Focusing on this Dried Flower Wedding Inspiration was an absolute joy.
It began with pressing flowers leftover from weddings slowly but surely. We wanted to create wedding inspiration that reused and really mixed the idea of old and new. Dried flowers often come across dark, and sometimes edgy, and we knew there was a way to make them so elegant and romantic.
Dried flowers are an heirloom, and can be kept forever.
Adding in touches of handmade paper, hand-embroidered shoes, and rough-cut diamonds, we wanted things to feel raw, and less “perfected”, and romantic. Not every wedding has to be heavy on the “something new” side, how about we celebrate the “something old” just as much. So many of these details could be framed and kept forever, and we loved how long-lasting that felt. We wanted to give a take on how to be less wasteful in the wedding world.
Flowers were the them, both dried and fresh.
While we did use some real flowers for the flower arrangements to give it that live and soft feel, mixing in the dried pieces gave it such a unique flare. Everything had a flower theme, to celebrate both living and dried flowers. The Alexandra Grecco dress had small appliqué flowers, the shoes had embroidered flowers, and we created a dried flower comb for our bride to wear that is still a priceless piece to this day.
Dried Flower Wedding Inspiration is such an easy wedding element to do yourself.
It all came together in a way that feels feasible for brides, they can add in pressed or dried flowers to any part of their day, they just need to start saving them early on. Especially in this time where the world has stopped, drying and pressing flowers is something a bride can be active about knowing they won’t go to waste. So start pressing today and you’ll have so many fun unique elements to add to your wedding day.
