I am so excited to share this Denver Mansion Wedding Day Getting Ready Bridesmaids Brunch with you! We set up this photoshoot to mirror that special time when you get ready with your bridesmaids on the morning of your wedding. It’s such a special once-in-a-lifetime morning, and why not plan a little extra something special for your favorite ladies. We were so excited to have this published on Style Me Pretty.
I wanted to share a few tips and tricks for planning the morning of your wedding, from a wedding photographer’s perspective. Hopefully they will be helpful in planning something special for your ladies the morning of your wedding.
Your Wedding Day Really does go far too quickly
Everyone always tells you that your wedding day goes by far too quickly, and I hate to say it, but it’s true. One moment you are stepping into your wedding dress, and the next you are running through your sparkler exit saying goodbye to all your guests.
As a Denver Wedding Photographer, I always aim to give you moments to take in your wedding day! Whether it’s doing my best to give you a quiet moment alone after the ceremony, or reminding you to take a deep breath and take in all that’s going on around you. Or simply taking a small walk with your new spouse, taking in the fact that you are finally man and wife.
This Denver Mansion Wedding Day Getting Ready Bridesmaids Brunch was a fabulous to show celebrating your best friends.
I recommend drawing out some of the special time of your wedding day is to really embrace the morning of your wedding. You are most likely getting ready with all your best girls, and it’s such a fun time of anticipation and excitement. I highly recommend, if your venue will allow it, adding a little extra time onto your morning getting ready process. We wanted to show how to celebrate this morning time with your best girls, by styling a bridesmaids getting ready brunch. You always need some food before all the festivities begin, so why not add a special table setup for your best ladies, after you get your hair and makeup done. It’s such a fun morning of pampering, why not go all out.
Create a Fun experience that really celebrates the start of your wedding day!
The Every Hostess and I wanted to style a romantic springtime brunch for your ladies, and Grant Humphreys Mansion was the perfect backdrop. Sometimes our wedding day decor tends to fit many different personalities and tastes. But this is a way where you can truly just be girly, and bring out all those fun pinks and ladylike things. We had to have a mimosa bar, and mini-pancakes of course!
Think about the space you will be getting ready in.
I highly recommend having a light filled room to do your hair and makeup in. Oftentimes you end up in a dark backroom somewhere, and you really want the space to feel calming for you all! This helps your makeup artist see things in natural light which is super important, but it also allows for great photo moments. Just make sure to think this through when walking through your venue. I highly recommend having a separate space to keep bags, wedding things, and such that will clutter the space. Also keeping everyone’s bags organized helps later when you are all changing into your dresses, and putting things you aren’t wearing away in their dedicated spot is super helpful. It saves you later that night so you won’t be scrambling to find little things you kept here, there, and everywhere. This does allow for great photos, but also keeps the getting ready process feeling intimate and beautiful.
The space is not just important for great photographs, and for your hair and makeup ladies to be able to set up, but it sets the tone for your day. Have some fun, but calming, music playing. So that everyone feels relaxed; that somehow that they have entered a mini-wedding-day-spa! Our fabulous makeup artist Liana Kathryn, also helped plan the specifics of the hair and makeup for the girls. I always highly, highly recommend a professional hair and makeup artist for your wedding day. Not only does it allow you to feel so pampered and pretty, but you want to look your absolute best on your big day! Planning extra time to enjoy hair and makeup is always key. You want your makeup artist to be just that, and be an artist. Giving them time to really pamper you and create your best-ever hair and makeup look is super important for you to feel your best throughout your wedding day!
It’s all about the food.
Something that is often forgotten on a wedding day is the food. of course you have planned a fabulous dinner for your guests in the evening. But remember that you might then be skipping both breakfast and lunch, depending on what time your ceremony is, and therefore what time you start getting ready. Be sure to have some food for your girls so they can snack in-between hair and makeup. Three tomatoes Catering brought in the most incredible brunch for us. I was absolutely obsessed with the mini pancakes, and tiny avocado toasts! What could be better than a super cute brunch the morning of your wedding.
Gifting your girls something special is always fun.
For this shoot Kismet Crafted created custom little boxed gifts for the bridesmaids and brides. If you are overwhelmed with your wedding planning, gifting boxes like these are the perfect little touch. However I do suggest that making your girls feel cherished, thought of, and loves is more important than gifts. So allowing them to feel pampered with hair and makeup, or taking the time to have handwritten notes will make them feel so special.
Last but not least, make sure to include flowers.
For this photoshoot Plum Sage Flowers arranged the perfect spring bouquets and table arrangements. Never skimp on flowers, they add so much story, dimension, and depth to your wedding day. You may not have the budget to have specific arrangements for the morning of your wedding, but ask your florist if they could include some small bud vases. Or if your florist is already at your venue setting up when you are getting ready, have your bouquets sitting pretty in their vases to add ambiance, and the smell of fresh flowers!
Of course this is a lot to think about for your wedding day morning. But mostly take away that you want to put a little extra thought into that part of your day. It sets the tone for your entire wedding day, and if nothing else you want the morning to feel relaxing, restful, and as special as the rest of your day!
