A Timeless Napa Valley Wedding at Tre Posti in Saint Helena

There is a particular kind of light that only happens in the Napa Valley in the late afternoon. It slips gold and soft between the vines, catches on a veil, and turns an ordinary Saint Helena hillside into something that looks almost painted. That was the light we got to work in for Josette and Daniel’s wedding at Tre Posti, and I am still thinking about it.

I always say the small things tell you who a couple is before you ever see them together. This day proved it right away. Black vintage Christian Louboutin heels tucked among white roses picked from the garden. A bottle of Chanel Sycomore. A tiny antique perfume atomizer that looked like it had a hundred stories in it already. Elegant, a little unexpected, and so intentional, just like everything else that followed.

Josette is Ghanaian, and her heritage was woven through the day in a way that felt so genuine and so celebrated. It was not a detail tucked into a corner, it was central to the story of who she is. You could feel that pride in the room all day long.

Tre Posti, a Napa Valley Venue Worth Falling For

Tre Posti sits in Saint Helena, right in the heart of Napa Valley wine country. It is one of those venues that does not need much help from anyone. Vineyard rows stretch out in every direction, the hills roll soft and golden behind them. There is a stillness to the property that makes it feel like the whole valley slowed down just for the day. Josette and Daniel’s wedding leaned into all of it. Simple, elevated, and rooted in the landscape rather than fighting it.

Their first look and portraits happened right amongst the jasmine vines, and I do not think I could have asked for a better backdrop. I wish there was a scratch and sniff for these images.

A Bridal Look Built on Timeless Elegance

Josette’s gown came from Janene’s Bridal. A San Francisco bridal boutique that clearly knows how to dress a bride who wants romance without ever tipping into fussy. The gown itself was designed by Martin Thornburg, and it was the kind of dress that photographs beautifully whether she was standing still or catching wind in the vineyard. It’s structured through the bodice, soft and full through that gorgeous folded skirt.

Her bridesmaids were dressed by Robert Paul SF. The mix of deep emerald pleats and soft printed silhouettes against all that white and green florals was just stunning. Beauty was handled by Bay Area Makeup Artist Fee, who gave Josette that glowing, lit from within look that lasts through golden hour and every dance floor moment after.

Florals and Design That Felt Like the Valley Itself

The floral design, by Flower and Forage, was wild and romantic and so beautifully restrained all at once! White dahlias, calla lilies, and airy garden blooms filled Josette’s bouquet, while her bridesmaids carried these gorgeous globe dahlias on their own, simple and graphic and just a little unexpected. It was the kind of floral work that did not need to shout to be memorable.

A Reception Table Set for Wine Country

The long, candlelit tables, strung with bistro lights under a leafy pergola for this wedding reception. They were set with black cane chairs and low, garden style centerpieces spilling with white blooms and fresh fruit. It felt like dinner at a villa somewhere in the south of France, except it was right here in Napa Valley, and it was entirely Josette and Daniel’s.

And then there was the escort card display, be still my heart. A sculptural white wall stacked with books, black and white photographs, tiny sculptures from Ghana, a vintage camera, and the words LOVE BRINGS YOU HOME mounted right at the top. It was personal in a way that so many wedding details try to be and rarely achieve. Every single object on that wall meant something, and you could feel it.

Her cathedral veil catching the breeze just enough. When they kissed in that vineyard with the hills glowing behind them, the whole crew went quiet for a second. That is always how you know.

I feel so lucky to spend my days documenting weddings like this one, tucked into the hills of Napa Valley, full of people who love each other well and vendors who show up and do their craft with so much heart. Josette and Daniel, thank you for letting us be there for it. What a day.

Jo and Daniel led their guests from dinner to their dancing spot with a fun second line, lots of fun Ghanaian dance moves came out, and everyone had such fun dancing their way over.

The Team Behind the Day

This Timeless Napa Valley Wedding at Tre Posti in Saint Helena was so thoughtfully put together. That does not happen without a team who knows exactly what they are doing, and Josette and Daniel had the best of the best. Planning and coordination were led by Ysabel Lifestyle, whose fingerprints were all over the flow and feel of the entire day. Florals by Flower and Forage. Josette’s gown from Janene’s Bridal, designed by Martin Thornburg. Bridesmaids attire by Robert Paul SF. Beauty by Fee. And the whole day held inside the quiet, golden beauty of Tre Posti in Saint Helena, photographed by yours truly Amy Caroline Photography.
